Pod\u010detrtek is a settlement and a municipality in eastern Slovenia. The area traditionally belonged to the region of Styria. It is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.<\/p>\n\n
The castle in Pod\u010detrtek was mentioned in written sources in 1209 as de Landesperc. The name appears on a 1763\u201387 map in both German and Slovene as Landsberg Windisch Pod Tschetertkom. The name implies that the castle above the settlement was once called *\u010cetrtek (literally, ‘Thursday’). The motivation for the name is unknown. It may refer to the day that court sentences were handed down, to a market day, to a day of corv\u00e9e, or to the day when the settlement was founded. In the past the German name of the settlement was Windisch Landsberg.<\/p>\n\n
The castle was first mentioned in 1251. Most of the current structure dates to the early 17th century, when a two-story building with a central courtyard and two southern towers was built. It was adapted again in the late 18th century to the Baroque style, but retains its original features. After 1945 it was looted and fell into a state of disrepair, although the imposing building on a hill above the settlement is still an obvious landmark. \n \n<\/p>\n\n
OLIMJE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n Olimje is a settlement in the Municipality of Pod\u010detrtek in eastern Slovenia. The area around Pod\u010detrtek was traditionally part of the region of Lower Styria. It is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.<\/p>\n\n Olimje Castle is a 16th-century castle located in the settlement. In the 17th century, when it was converted to a monastery, the monastic church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary was built. It is now also the local parish church. A second church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Andrew and is a Late Gothic single nave building dating to the 15th century.
