Pizza is one of the dishes we love today. We like to eat it at almost any time, it’s quick to make and it fills us up nicely. Pizzeria Parma offers not only great pizzas, but also affordable ones with an authentic taste that will not leave you indifferent. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be happy to come back. At the same time, Parma is the pizzeria with the longest tradition in Slovenia and in the former Yugoslavia. Once you have tasted it, you will be happy to go back to the times of the common state, where life was different, perhaps more peaceful, more tranquil and more cheerful. The nostalgic flavour that the whole pizzeria carries will leave us with a beautiful experience.
Pizza is much more than just fast food, it is one of the most popular dishes in the world. The most recognisable is the pizza napoletana, which carries only tomatoes, mozzarella and a few basil leaves.
With its famous counter, bar stools, collages and articles about pizzeria on the walls, pizza and sweet blueberry juice, Pizzeria Parma will please all kinds of customers who want to try good and tasty pizzas.
Pizza at Pizzeria Parma can be ordered with a variety of toppings, some of them standard and more simple, others with very special toppings with very interestingly chosen names. For example, we can eat the ”Trieste is ours” pizza, which has cooked ham, mushrooms and sauce from Trieste, the ”Ivan Cankar” pizza with tartar sauce, the ”Iskra” pizza is better suited to those who like spicy food, as it has kulen and hot pepperoni, the ”Sombrero” pizza tells us that its ingredients are chilli, and the ”Giuseppe Verdi” pizza is purely vegetable. Of course, these are not the only pizzas, Pizzeria Parma has many more to satisfy even the pickiest of guests.
The origins date back to the 1970s, when pizzas began to be baked in the Maxi arcade, causing a real euphoria in Ljubljana and throughout Slovenia. The pizzas have not changed, they are baked in exactly the same way in the original oven. Today, we offer more than 40 types of pizza. The crowds were so large at the opening that guests queued for over an hour to get a seat in the small and narrow Parma restaurant, which was opened by the Ilirija hotel company.
Despite its success, Pizzeria Parma has not always been so lucky. The 1980s were the golden years, the pizzeria enjoyed success at every turn, and in 2001 the pizzeria temporarily closed. The blame for this was the change of management, which led to a sharp decline in the number of diners in the 1990s. Fortune smiled on them again when Jure Kadunc, the owner of Foculus, entered the picture. He restored the oven, it took six months to repair it and was finally successfully repaired. Pizzeria Parma has had its ups and downs, but with persistent work and effort, it has proved that legends do not just disappear.
Pizzeria Parma, a legend from Yugoslavia, stands alone in Ljubljana at Maxi’s and will enchant you and take you nostalgically back to a different time.
